In the eighties I was the tour support for quite a few popular indepenent groups. Last night I was musing as to why they invited me along and it occured to me that

- I was cheap

- I didn't have a manager

- I was willing to sleep outside the bands hotel in their van with an amplifier on my head.

- That all I was was a gob and guitar whose sound check consisted of adjusting the height of two microphones.

- I didn't drink all of the bands rider while they were on the stage.

- I made bands look adventurous and / or compassionate for choosing me and my tour merchandise merely consisted of an A4 green booklet of song lyrics and drawings.

Here is some of it. I still have about fifty left. would you like to buy one.
